For our second release we’re proud to bring you the debut release from our new signing Blake. There’s gonna be plenty more heat from this man in due course, but right now you get to hear the opening shots from a serious new talent. As meticulous with his sonic scalpel as he is brutal with his beats and bass, all tracks come with a guarantee of finesse plus heaviness.
And in what we hope will become a hallmark of each Scion release, Blake offers up three very different pieces of music here, demonstrating not only his range, but his flair in all areas.
Outlaw: Deep, dubby, hypnotic; the finely-crafted soundtrack for a smoking samurai, chilling between bouts of bloodletting..
Leave Us Alone: Ominous, rumbling b-line, neck-snapping drums and laser sonics set the scene for a trip to a dark, threatening dystopia, all sweeping searchlights, checkpoints and robocops..
Minority: More dystopia, but this time we’re in the zone with some ice-cold d&b: tight heavy beats and bass, crisp edits, tension-filled atmospherics, suspense-laden breakdowns, momentum building all the while. You gotta love it..
By the time you’ve finished listening, we hope that not only will your ears have had a good time, but you’ll also get what we’re trying to do here, and are just a little bit excited about what’s in store. We certainly are, there’s plenty more good stuff on the way.
