Following on from his recent deep & dark ‘Peace of Mind’ collaborative EP with Blake, Deepcutt’s second solo release on Scion, the ‘Planet Earth’ EP comprises a suite of impeccably produced subterranean gems, highlighting his virtuoso touch for the deep and the chilled.
Easing the passage into the deep, opener ‘X-change’ shimmers with understated atmospherics and warm sub-bass tremors, as underground breezes carry dislocated voices through cavernous spaces.
Escaping the earthbound, ‘Planet Earth’ offers up a dawn, as seen from space: serene and majestic minimal d&b.
Final track ‘Daggers’ kicks things up a just a little touch, with some sturdy rolling production, complete with some glorious bleeps..
